The coop also extends additional services to members as follows:

Mortuary Aid Plan

Another service being provided by the cooperative for its members is the mortuary aid program or sharing one another's burden in times of death. Each regular member contributes fifty pesos (P50.00) to a member who dies. It is therefore advised that payment of MAP should be religiously done because members with more than Four Thousand Pesos (P 4,000) unpaid death aid contributions will be dropped from the program . 

Membership to the mortuary aid program (MAP) is compulsary and automatically included in the application for coop membership. MAP application of new members aged 60 and above shall be accepted but these members can only avail of MAP benefits after five (5) years of MAP membership, but if this member dies before the five years period, his MAP contributions shall be paid to his heirs together with the interest accruing to his accumulated contributions.


College Educational Assistance Program

The cooperative finances a scholarship program available to deserving dependents of qualified members. Each barangay of Besao is  entitled to one (1) scholar but should not be a recepient of any other scholarship grants from other agencies. The coop extends financial assistance of Three Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00) per semester per qualified applicant.

Qualifications:

  1. Dependents of full-fledged members regardless of age except dependents of BOD, Committees and Management Staff.
  2. The parents should be member of the coop for at least two (2) years and with no delinquent loan.
  3. The applicant must not be a recipient of any other scholarship grants from other agencies.
  4. Students taking under-graduate course only (No post-graduate courses).
  5. In case of multiple applicants in a barangay, the applicants shall be screened by the Board of Directors. First to consider in prioritizing shall be the neediness of the student secondary to his/her performance in high school.

Fire Assistance Program

This program of the coop provides cash assistance to members whose house/s, rice granaries or business establishment has been razed down by fire. Burned properties mentioned through arson are disqualified from the program. Each regular member contributes five pesos (P5.00).

Qualifications:

  1. Members who have fully paid the minimum required share capital and have complied with other minimum requirements for membership.
  2. Regular member for at least two years.
  3. Members who have paid their calamity fund contribution.
  4. The house, rice granary or business establishment is at least 80% damaged. Less than 80% is prorated but at a minimum of 20%.
  5. Members whose house, rice granary or business establishment that have been burned through arson shall be disqualified from the benefits of the program.
